  • Ronald Moiles
    DVM with wife,
    Candy | Hospital Owner

    Education: Michigan State University

    Dr. Moiles is the owner and Hospital Administrator of the Kalamazoo Animal Hospital.  He received his bachelor of science degree in biology and chemistry from Michigan State University in 1978.  Dr Moiles graduated from the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981.  He and his wife grew up in mid-Michigan and moved to Kalamazoo in 1983.  They have two grown sons.   He enjoys fishing, gardening and is an outdoor enthusiast. Family pets include Max (a Miniature Australian Shepherd), and four cats (Sophie, Tara, Gemma, and Peepers).

  • Angela Kautzer,
    DVM | Veterinarian

    Education: Michigan State University

    Dr. Kautzer was born in Kenosha Wisconsin, but later moved to Sterling Heights, MI. After receiving her undergraduate work from Oakland University and Michigan State University, Dr. Kautzer graduated from MSU's college of Veterinary Medicine in 2006.  She has been with the Kalamazoo Animal Hospital since 2007. Dr. Kautzer enjoys playing sports, traveling and spending time with her husband, Dr. Brett Veneklase, and their cat Lillie and their dog Mia.

  • Lisa Prudhomme,
    DVM | Veterinarian

    Education: Iowa State University

    Dr. Prudhomme graduated from Iowa State University with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1996 and joined Kalamazoo Animal Hospital in 2003. Before coming to Michigan, she practiced in Indiana, Illinois and Missouri (where she was in a radiology residency).  Dr. Prudhomme and her husband have four children and two dogs.

  • Kelly Flanagan,
    DVM | Veterinarian

    Education: Ohio State University

    Dr. Flanagan is a 2001 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She joined Kalamazoo Animal Hospital in July, 2019. 

    Although she’s a proud Buckeye, Dr. Flanagan is a native of the Kalamazoo area. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Hope College. In order to pursue her Master of Science degree in biology at Bowling Green State University, she relocated to Ohio. After 10 years, she moved back to southwest Michigan due to her love of the area, and close proximity to family. 

    Dr. Flanagan is married to Bill, an area curator at John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids. They have two adventurous teenagers who love animals and the outdoors. They also have two dogs (May and Mimi), two cats (Sprinkles and Moki),  two snakes (Eggy and Princess), poison dart frogs, aquatic salamanders, and several fish. In her free time, she enjoys bird watching, knitting, and traveling.

  • Kerra Gray,
    LVT, VTS (CP, c/f) | Hospital Manager

    Education: Michigan State University

    Kerra has worked in veterinary medicine since she was a teenager, starting as a kennel  assistant and eventually graduating from Michigan State University as a licensed veterinary technician in 2005. In November, 2014, she achieved a veterinary technician specialty in canine and feline clinical practice from the Academy of Veterinary Technicians in Clinical Practice. She joined Kalamazoo Animal Hospital in October, 2016. When not working, she enjoys the company of her dog and three cats.

  • Marie C.
    | Veterinary Technician

    Education: Purdue University

    Marie started her career in veterinary medicine working in kennels. After a short time, she was promoted to a receptionist and assistant position. She then attended Purdue University to study Veterinary Technology. Since graduating in 2001, she has worked as a licensed veterinary technician. She has a husband, two kids, one dog, and multiple cats. She enjoys playing flute, reading books, playing with her kids, and watching TV. 

  • Kaitlin (Kitty) F.
    | Veterinary Assistant

    Education: Ross Medical Education Center

    Kitty is a graduate of Ross Medical Education Center’s Veterinary Assisting program. She has been with Kalamazoo Animal Hospital since 2016. Previously, Kitty worked in childcare for 9 years as an infant caregiver and graduated KVCC with an art degree in 2010. She loves working with animals and has four cats of her own at home, Bruce, Harley, Arnold, and Grayson. When not at work, she enjoys spending time outside, DIY projects, and sewing.

  • Evan M.
    | Veterinary Assistant

    Education: Penn Foster College

    Evan grew up in a veterinary family as the son of a veterinarian and a veterinary technician. He has extensive experience in veterinary emergency medicine, having worked for three years at a large emergency and referral facility before joining Kalamazoo Animal Hospital in March of 2019. 

    Evan is a graduate of the Penn Foster veterinary assisting program and is an accredited veterinary assistant. 

                                                                                                                                                                              

  • Melissa B. |
    Veterinary Assistant

    Education: Animal Behavior College

    Melissa received her certification in veterinary assisting from the Animal Behavior College. Becoming a veterinary assistant has fulfilled her dream of working with animals. At home, she has several pets, including a very fluffy Samoyed named Fancy. When not working, she and her husband love to travel. 

  • Christian G. |
    Veterinary Assistant

    Education: Animal Behavior College

    Christian is an accredited veterinary assistant. He received his accreditation from the Animal Behavior College and externed at KAH when he was completing the program. He is currently enrolled in undergraduate courses at KVCC with the eventual goal of going to veterinary school. He has a dog and a cat at home. 

  • Karen B.
    | Receptionist

    Education: University of Illinois at Chicago

    Karen was born and raised in Chicago but has lived in Portage for the last 17 years.  She earned her B.A. in Liberal Arts at the University of Illinois in 1993.  Karen has always had a passion for animals and has worked for a dog rescue group.  She and her husband have three wonderful daughters, two dogs and two cats.  Her free time is spent doing family activities, playing with the dogs and taking walks on trails.

  • Kate S.
    | Receptionist

    Kate is originally from South Bend, IN. Upon moving to the Kalamazoo area, she made it her mission to fulfill her lifelong dream of working with animals. Kate's love for pets of all kinds (especially dogs!) lead her to join Kalamazoo Animal Hospital in May, 2019 as a receptionist and veterinary assistant. She has one dog of her own, a Pit Bull mix named Jax. In her free time, she enjoys attending music festivals and concerts, as well as hoop dancing. 

    Kate says, 'My favorite thing about veterinary medicine is learning something new every day. Every day brings new opportunity, new faces, and new experiences. I'm forever grateful for having a job that pushes me to my limits and gives me a sense of purpose. I feel like my job matters and I'm making the lives of people and pets easier every day.'
